Standby, stabilization, and transport

These terms describe provider-specific logistics around legal death. They matter when reading an offering, but they are not CWH services and should not be treated as a universal medical standard.

Standby

Standby generally means having a team prepared near an expected legal death so authorized actions can begin after the lawful point without unnecessary delay. Team composition, geography, and permitted actions depend on provider contract and jurisdiction.

Stabilization

Providers use this term for initial post-legal-death measures aimed at cooling and preparing for transport or further procedure. CWH should not publish dosing, medication regimens, or medical instructions; those remain with qualified teams and local rules.

Transport

Transport can involve local recovery, funeral-home logistics, air or ground transfer, and handoff to a storage Provider. The chain differs by country and organization, and additional costs are often outside the headline preservation price.

Commercial and volunteer models

Some groups, such as Cryonics UK, describe assistance as a volunteer operation and explicitly warn that team availability cannot be guaranteed. That is materially different from promising a guaranteed 24/7 response service.

CWH’s role

CWH can compare provider-described geography, inclusions, and qualifiers, but it does not dispatch emergency response or confirm that a team will reach a specific person. Real planning requires checking current terms directly with the selected Provider.
